XLRI, the first management institute in India, was incorporated in 1949 by a few visionary Jesuit Fathers to bring a change in the economy and society at large. The institute always strives to be a management school with a difference. Pursuit of academic excellence and fostering whole-person integral growth of students has been the hallmark of XLRI for over six decades. In 2002, XLRI introduced Virtual Interactive Learning (Online Learning/Distance Learning/Part Time Management Programme) as a unique academic methodology that gives working professionals an opportunity to undertake continuing management education without having to take a break from their careers. The e-learning model has been designed to offer participants flexible timing and includes insightful course content that facilitates career progression. XLRI is committed to delivering high quality management education and is constantly experimenting with innovation pedagogy to this end.
Human Resources (HR) function is the pivot around which an organization revolves. The spectrum of HR function spans planning, talent acquisition and compensation on one end, to providing strategic support in accomplishing Organizational goals and being the custodian of Organizational culture, on the other. Of late, the HR function is transforming from being a business enabler to a business driver. Modern-day HR has to not only plan the workforce management strategy, but also boost the business strategy for better Organizational performance to drive value through HR. The need for management education in today’s world for effective performance is a foregone conclusion. While experience might have been the backbone of effective performance in the corporate world of yesterday, knowledge and continuous learning is the mainstay amongst the best Organizations of today. In order to satisfy this thirst for knowledge and to become a learning Organization, XLRI has evolved a 12-month consolidated programme in Human Resource Management.
